My inspiration for this project was to create an electric-acoustic guitar combining both elements into one musical instrument. First it started with reference images to build upon.
Next was to build each piece of the model out with good topology in order for the texturing to be correct.
After creating the model I split the guitar into two different UV model sets, one for the base wood parts, and one for anything that used metal.
This made it really easy to separate and texture
The final step was to texture the guitar in Adobe Substance Painter. I wanted it to stand out compared to most acoustic guitars so I decided on a rough blue wood finish to give it a rugged look.
The modeling software used was Maya, and the texturing software used was Adobe Substance Painter.
